45-Day Screening and Child Find Reminder
Good morning, TCUSD Team,
As part of our Child Find responsibilities, this is a reminder that the required 45-day screening forms must be completed for all newly enrolled students. For students who began school on August 3, 2026, the 45-day deadline is Thursday, September 17, 2026. Students enrolling after August 3 must have their screening completed within 45 calendar days of their individual enrollment date. To support consistent implementation of TCUSD Regulation IHB-R, I have attached a recommended school-based 45-day screening process. It summarizes the required timelines, documentation, parent communication, and shared responsibilities in a clear and practical format. Please take time to review it and use it as a guide as we work together to ensure screenings are completed on time and students receive the support they need. The goal is not to add unnecessary layers of work, but to provide consistency, clarity, and support across all schools.
Teachers, please complete all required forms accurately and submit them according to your school’s established process. Principals and ESS staff, please monitor completion and follow up as needed to ensure all screenings are completed, documented, and submitted on time. Consistent completion of this process helps us identify students who may need additional support and ensures the District fulfills its Child Find responsibilities.
