NTUA Natural Gas Construction Beginning September 7, 2026

Good afternoon, TCUSD FAMILY,
I want to make everyone aware of an upcoming NTUA natural gas construction project that will take place on District property beginning Monday, September 7, 2026, with work currently expected to be completed by Saturday, September 12, 2026.
The project will begin at the north complex near the Transportation/Bus Yard and Nizhoni Accelerated Academy (NAA) and continue toward Tuba City Junior High School. NTUA will be installing a new natural gas line, which will require excavation along portions of this route.
Because this work crosses areas used by staff, buses, District vehicles, and visitors, there will be temporary traffic-control and construction zones along the project route. Access will be maintained, but there may be short delays or changes in normal traffic patterns while crews are working.
Please keep the following in mind:
-
Slow down and use extra caution anywhere near the Bus Yard, NAA, Junior High, and the construction route between these areas.
-
Follow all cones, barricades, signage, and directions provided by construction or District personnel.
-
Please do not enter designated construction areas or move traffic-control devices.
-
Be especially alert for construction equipment, excavation areas, buses, students, and pedestrians.
-
Allow a little extra time when arriving at or leaving District facilities during construction.
NTUA's current construction schedule is generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We will continue coordinating with NTUA throughout the project, particularly regarding traffic flow, student and staff safety, and access to our facilities. This is an important infrastructure improvement for our District, and I appreciate everyone's patience and flexibility while the work is completed. Safety comes first, so please be cautious when traveling anywhere near the construction area.
We will communicate any significant changes to the schedule, traffic patterns, or facility access as we receive them. Thank you, everyone!
Stronger Together,
Scott Nedrow
Superintendent
