Reflection Friday: "Stronger Together"
As I reflect on this first full week serving the Tuba City Unified School District community, one thing has become abundantly clear:
"Culture is not created by words alone, it is created by people who choose to live those words every day."
Earlier this week, I shared our Warrior wordle design, where every word represents who we are and who we aspire to become. Looking back on this week, I didn't just see those words in a graphic, I saw them in action. I saw service in employees who quietly stepped in to help others without being asked. I saw relationships beginning to form across departments, schools, and our community. I witnessed trust growing through honest conversations and a willingness to listen. I saw teamwork as people worked together to solve problems, embrace change, and keep students at the center of every decision. I experienced hope, hope for what this school year can become when we move forward with one shared purpose.
Being a WARRIOR means more than wearing our colors. It means choosing every day to lead with integrity, treat others with respect, embrace our traditions, and believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. We have a great deal of work ahead, but after this week, I am more confident than ever that we have something special here. Together, we will continue building schools where every student feels safe, valued, challenged, and inspired. As we head into the weekend, take time to rest, recharge, and appreciate the difference you make. Leadership isn't measured only by big moments; it is reflected in the countless small acts of kindness, encouragement, and dedication that often go unnoticed but leave lasting impacts.
