Friday Reflection – Preparing the Way

Good Morning, Tuba City Unified School District Family,
As another Friday arrives, I've been reflecting on the incredible amount of work that has taken place across our district over the past week. There's a quote by Vince Lombardi that has always resonated with me:
"The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual."
That quote perfectly captures what I have witnessed here in the Tuba City Unified School District.
Although our classrooms have not yet been filled with students and our teachers will soon be returning, there is already an incredible amount of work happening behind the scenes. Campuses are being prepared. Projects are moving forward. Systems are being refined. Professional learning is being planned. Questions are being answered. Problems are being solved. Relationships are continuing to grow. These efforts may not always be visible to the public, but they are essential to creating a successful school year. Our motto, Stronger Together, isn't something we wait to live once students arrive. It begins long before the first bell rings. It begins with people who care deeply about serving others and who understand that every role contributes to our shared mission.
This week, I have been encouraged by the collaboration I've seen among our principals, district leadership, maintenance and custodial teams, transportation, technology, business services, human resources, food service, and every department working diligently to ensure we are ready to welcome our students. Your professionalism, flexibility, and commitment have not gone unnoticed. Preparing for a new school year is much like building the foundation of a home. Most people never see the work beneath the surface, but without a strong foundation, nothing lasting can be built. Right now, that is exactly what we are doing; we are laying the foundation for a school year that will be defined by excellence, relationships, and a relentless focus on student success.
In the coming days, more members of our WARRIOR FAMILY will return, bringing new energy and excitement to our campuses. I look forward to welcoming every employee back and continuing to build a culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to do their very best work. Thank you to everyone who has contributed this week. Your willingness to serve, collaborate, and embrace our shared vision is making a difference before the first student even walks through our doors. As you enjoy your weekend, take time to rest and recharge. Every day brings us one step closer to the beginning of what I truly believe will be an outstanding school year for the Tuba City Unified School District.
Together, we are preparing more than classrooms. We are preparing opportunities. We are preparing futures. We are preparing hope. Thank you for all you do! Stronger Together. Warrior Strong.
With appreciation,
Scott Nedrow
Superintendent
